The ‘PropTech Global Trends Barometer’ results from a collaboration between ESCP Business School and the Government of Monaco, as part of the Extended Monaco Entreprise programme. This report provides an in-depth analysis of the evolution of PropTech on a global scale, highlighting the technological advances transforming real estate.
In Monaco, real estate and construction account for 20% of GDP, making these sectors key pillars of the local economy. Combined with innovation, they are strategic levers for the development of Monaco’s property market and enhance the country’s attractiveness on the international stage. Against this backdrop, since 2019, Monaco and ESCP Business School have been publishing this study to assess the impact of digital solutions on the sector. This initiative reflects the Principality’s ambition to position itself as a centre of digital excellence, combining real estate tradition and innovation.
The report is based on the research of Professor Jaime Luque, who holds the ‘Real Estate Technology Innovation’ Chair in Monaco and is Director of the Institute of Finance and Real Estate Management at ESCP. His expertise in urban economics and financial markets brings a rigorous academic approach to the analysis of the sector.
In collaboration with Diego Bonaventura, head of the Monaco Government’s Digital Economy Unit, the barometer highlights the emerging trends and innovations that are redefining the real estate industry. This complementarity between academic research and public strategy provides a deeper understanding of market developments.
Previous editions have revealed a significant increase in investment in PropTech. In particular, the 2024 edition noted that $47 billion had been raised in 61 countries, illustrating the boom in digital technologies in real estate.
The report also examines the geographical distribution of companies in the sector, highlighting expansion in Europe and Asia, as well as a stable presence in the United States.
