Frédéric GENTA

Harvard and ESCP graduate with 20 years of experience in both business and public international environments, Frédéric Genta has held senior positions within the Monegasque Government and multinational corporations. He has a strong track record in leveraging technology for business and public policies transformation, a perfect knowledge of the financial and investment ecosystems and a first-class experience in representation and governance. Throughout his current position and previous career at Google, Amazon and Orange, he has built partnerships with business executives, public leaders, sovereign wealth funds and industry giants.

 

Frédéric Genta has been a member of the Government of Monaco since 2018. As Monaco Secretary for Attractiveness and Digital, he is responsible for modernizing the country while building and managing an ecosystem to attract and integrate the UHNWIs, family offices and investment funds that are at the heart of the Principality’s economy. His objective is to make Monaco a global leader in today very competitive environment.
To achieve this goal, under the active patronage of H.S.H. Albert II of Monaco, he has launched a major transformation initiative, « Extended Monaco », which includes e-education, e-health, smart city, e-government, digital identity, telecom upgrade and the launch of a sovereign cloud, meeting the highest standards of leading city-states.

Very active during the pandemic and the post-covid era, he supported the resilience and recovery of the economy via a massive digitalization and training program through public subsidies and investments from the Monaco sovereign fund. Over the last two years, Frédéric has led the revamping of the State’s attractiveness policy based on a vast and integrated proactive approach to target and welcome entrepreneurs and investment structures. To achieve this ambition, he orchestrated promotional international actions, leveraging two agencies which he chairs (Monaco Welcome Office and Monaco Private Label) and partnered with Monaco business ecosystem, including the major players in Monaco’s private banking and investment sector.
Meanwhile, throughout his career Frederic has also been appointed to various non-executive senior positions, including Board memberships at Monacair, Monaco Digital and Firmfunding and to the Advisory Board of ReOcean Fund (Prince Albert II Foundation Venture Fund) while serving as Board Observer for Société des Bains de Mer and Monaco Telecom. In addition to his other duties, he is a guest professor at the ESCP, focusing on the investment industry and business models in the digital age.
Prior to his current role in the Government of Monaco, Frédéric began his career in investment banking at Société Générale and Lehman Brothers. He then led Orange’s operations in Moldova, Slovakia and the UK before launching Amazon’s sports and fashion business in France. From 2013 to 2018, Frédéric was Head of Retail EMEA at Google in Paris and San Francisco, where he led a team responsible for €400 million in revenue across Europe and secured and built a strategic alliance with Walmart in the US.
